Took a break yesterday from poker, need to catch up on some sleep. Playing at night only is really taking a toll on my body. So I went to bed early and with the long weekend coming up I will be ready to go. Good news though, the final OK came through from the wife and yes, I will be depositing this weekend. I cant wait. I might look around at a few sites and see if I like any other place to deposit. We'll see. Hope to see you on the tables.

Welcome to my reviews. I have never been nor claim to be an expert in poker. The only thing I know is how I play and where I like to play. My reviews are based solely on this. Also my reviews are geared toward the amateur/broke poker player. Like I have said I am married with two kids and cant afford to deposit all the time. So when reading these, understand that there are certain criteria I am looking for.

Ok so I have recently downloaded a bunch of new poker sites to include Titan, Sportsbook.com, and a few others. I have some time off of work coming up and I plan on updating my poker site reviews.

Finished in 4th last night in one the freerolls!!!! The hand that I went out on was unbelievable though. I had just taken out the 5th place person, and taken the chip lead when the next hand happened. I had 10 9 suited diamonds. There was no preflop raise and the blinds were 20k and 40k. I was first to act and had just called the blinds. The flop comes out as Jack of spades, 7 of diamonds, and 8 of spades. Exactly, I had hit my straight on the flop. I go all in figuring that no one would call and I would steal the 160k pot, but I was wrong. The 2nd place chip stack, who was only 17k behind me in chips, calls. I was loving it and thinking " I am so going to win this tournament". So the cards flip and he has two pair 7's and 8's to my straight. Now I'm praying for no 7 or 8 but I guess the poker gods were mad at me last night, cause as you guessed it He hit. I see the 7 come down on the river and my jaw hit the floor. I guess it was his night to win. I'm not upset, he probably called thinking I was betting on the Jack. I still did great and had made a bunch of tough calls that pulled through for me. Now I have a little bit of money to play in some real tournaments this weekend and my gut is on point.

OK it isn't first but I was on fire tonight!!! Placed 6th in a freeroll tonight!!! I have placed in the money last three nights!! I am getting my gut in check for real. I could have made it farther but in a last minute all in with pocket 6's, well it was a bad move. I was up against pocket J's. Its all good though at least tonight I get to get some sleep:) I am happy with myself, and cant wait till this weekend when I can really stay up late.

I played in my usual freerolls last night on AP and I was doing really good in one, but yet again the whole choke at the end thing kicked in. I finished in 33 winning a whole and this is funny $.33 cents. I'm not worried though, I'm at least placing and and I'm getting my gut in check. Like I always say you don't have to win them all, just the right ones.

I wanted to update before I go to bed. I came in 28th out of 3820 in one of tonight's freerolls. I was playing my game because I was WAY short stack a couple of times there. I always get stupid in the end though. I need to work on my end game, because I will do great at the start but come the end of the tournament I start to choke. Oh well I won $ .46 cents and I will see what I can do with that on the smaller limit tables.

The Gut. I know sounds weird huh? Well that's how I play poker, I listen to my gut. I don't know all the odds and percentages and stuff I should probably know if I'm going to go to the 2008 WSOP but it doesn't matter in my opinion. I know everyone has been there, staring at your cards and your thinking " Man I have to call " because something inside of you is shouting at you to. That's how I play. I get called a " donkey " a lot because of it but when you know you have to call, you have to call. Its hard sometimes, the cards might not always be the best, but trust your gut.

I have mixed feelings about this. Lets break it down.
- Cost - I love freerolls!!! They are free. Best thing ever. I don't know about you but I don't have all the money in the world to deposit every time I want to. But on the other hand they are free, which means that every Tom, Dick, and Harry can sign up to play. You get a lot of frustration when you play freerolls.
- Quality if Players- Like I said above because of the cost you get a lot of people who don't know how to play or maybe they know how to play they just get stupid in a freeroll. Worst thing I hate is the All-In first hand no matter what. Drives me nuts. Anyway I have found that if you can overcome the lack of skill and even profit off of it, the quality seems to improve after the first hour or so.
- Time VS Money- As much as I like poker and freerolls, this part can definitely be one of the draw backs. The money is great for a new player, or even someone like me who cant afford to deposit a lot but playing in a tournament for over 5 hours just to win 20 dollars is kinda of bummer. I mean you can do a lot with 20 or 30 dollars but that's only if you come in first. There have been many a tournament that I have played in for well over 4 hours just to win $.46 cents or $.33 cents.
Well thats my 2 cents on this. Please leave a comment and let me know how you feel.

I played in my usual three freerolls last night, and no luck. I don't know if it was because I was tired from work that day or maybe it was that I was trying to play Battlefield at the same time:( I think maybe its because I'm getting ready to deposit again so I'm not so worried about the money coming in from freerolls. I still need to play my game though, I have to remind myself that its still practice and I should always play to win. I will be on tonight and hopefully things will go better.

So lets start this journal off by giving a little more info about me. I am happily married to a wonderful woman and we have two great kids together. She tries her best to understand and put up with my love of poker. I don't know if this is happening to anyone else, put my love (she calls it an obsession) of poker can sometimes come between me and the family. I get to the point when I am playing poker, that I will come home from work and jump right on the computer. No time with the family or her and that causes problems. Now I know she is 100% right, and recently I have been doing really good to not let poker take over my life. I normally play late at night after her and the kids are sleeping. I still want to play all the time, and winning the 2008 WSOP will be the one of the greatest accomplishments of my life, but if her and the kids aren't there to share it with me it, it will mean nothing. So now I practice as much as I can when I can and no matter what I will be there and win the 2008 WSOP.

Ok added the journal and one review ( I know I need more) but soon to come will be a tournament leader board. As soon as the Nothing But Felt tournies kick off, I will keep track of stats and have a leader board which will lead to a heads up tournament between me and the leader, monthly. Also will be adding email subscriptions soon which you will have to be a subscriber to get in the tournaments.

OK so the only review I have for NOW is Absolute Poker. I love this site. I started playing there about 2 maybe 3 years ago now and they have never done me wrong. Lets start with the basics.
1. Right now they have a 100% up to $500 dollars initial deposit bonus, which I'm pretty sure is on of the best out there.
2. They just started not to long ago the Bad Beat Jackpot, which has already paid out over $2 million, one winner hitting over 800k!!
3. If you cant afford to deposit or just learning how to play they have plenty of freerolls, ranging in everything from Horse to NL Hold em.
4. On the live tables they offer NL, Limit and Pot Hold em, Omaha, and Omaha H/L, 7 card Stud and 7 card Stud H/L, and Razz.
5. They offer plenty of tournaments with loads of Guarantees with buyins as little as $.50 cents.
6. Its a great site and if you don't believe me go check it out. You can start playing right away with no money.
